“I dreamed last night of Ohio… and a million singing trees…“ (From Cordova Dreams- “Watersongs”) Hello friend!… What we have here is a musical journey that started sometime in 1986. That was the year I went to Alaska to visit my sister in the sea locked town of Cordova nestled on the shore of the Prince William Sound. The songs written that Summer began to form a project that became the musical celebration “Watersongs”. That recording to this day remains a document of my love for canoeing, sailing, and all those things that fill my passion for the natural world.
Fast forward to the E.J.Thomas Performing Arts Hall in Akron, Ohio on May 18th, 2024 where we recorded this performance…. Live! In-between the start and ending points of the evening you will find the tireless efforts of Eric Benjamin who took my simple vocal and guitar parts and transformed them into arrangements that coaxed out emotions as large as the landscapes bordering the rivers and streams that inspired these lyrics and lines.
Also included in the setlist is a singalong written during my residency at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center … ”All the Rivers Run”… There can be no greater joy than knowing this song has been taught, sung and passed along to a host of students, interns and teachers over the span of thirty plus years. I have Deb Yandala and Janice Mattucci to thank for this. The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park continues this good work and it would be worth a look to see what’s bubbling in the watershed here in Northern, Ohio by drifting by their website.

Homework was a well received collection of songs that marked Alex Bevan's movement toward the contemporary Americana genre evolving in the Singer Songwriter category. One of his best "unknown" works.
The classic album that defined the departure from the "Skinny" years to the serious songwriting that became thematic for the 1990's and described Alex's love for the environment.
Where does the time go? It seems like only a short while ago we got the word that everything was going to stop for a while…
When I decided to start doing live streams every day after the Governor’s briefings I never imagined that they would turn into roughly seven plus weeks of delving into my musical catalog, various thematic covers and feverish writings to produce “World Premiers” for the loyal and supportive folks who would tune into my FB stream and help to fuel the passion which has become this text and audio document that began on March 20th, 2020. I started with streaming from an iPad… marginal sound but good picture… rummaged through my gear and found an old Zoom Q2n camera that allowed me to use an obsolete Eridol mixer to produce a better audio stream… and then with the coaching of Steve Savanyu and JoeRay Skrha was able to Macgyver a better quality image and sound… that is the start of this recording…
