Music on the Rails

"C'mon along"

It’s more than a concert!  It’s the hopeful beginning of an idea cooked up at a kitchen table that might grow into a series of seasonal excursion events presenting the best of our local musicians in a new and unique venue!  This is more than a sing along… It’s more than a listening occasion … It’s your personal invitation to grab a friend and join us on a tune filled railroad running through your dreams!   … “C’mon Along!”

Be a part of a moving musical experience and chance to view the sunset through the leaves of our National Park.  C’mon Along with us for a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad with local musicians Alex Bevan and Austin Walkin’ Cane.   These two friends will be joined by Charlie Mossbrook, Paul Kovac, Carrie King and Taylor Lamborn for a song filled train ride along a river of possibilities!

We are offering this evening of entertainment with an eye toward creating a series of rides in next year’s season that offer new way to “stop, look and listen” at music along the rails inside our National Park!

First… we have to explore what’s going to work…  so here’s the deal….

We have three train cars and about one hundred Seventy seats to fill with music…

The Roots and Rails Coach - The ADA accessible car with seats and tables (46 seats)

The Songwriter Car - Tables and Chairs…( 80 seats)

The Hobo’s Hideaway - Sometimes called the Bourbon and Cigar Car (50 or so)… there will be no smoking… but the bar will be open and there is room for a bit of jamming. ( You can bet “Mamma Don’t Allow, Will the Circle, City of New Orleans, Wabash Cannonball and I’ve been Workin’ on the Railroad will be offered as a sing alongs at least one time!)

There will be three small stages and sound reinforcement systems…

Performers will do twenty minute in rotation - mini concert sets… then a short break to allow movement between stage to enter a different car and artist.

We are thinking festival and workshop shows…. Informal and up close!

You could sit in one place and see three shows… or watch an artist and then discover another musical entree.

The Cafe car will be available for refreshments of all types

The ticket price will be set at twenty dollars above the cost of the train ticket…. We are working that out…. “Details Soon!” … as they say in the real world!SO…. Are you ready to ride?  “C’mon Along!”
